Veterans and Everyday Heroes

Veterans and Everyday Heroes (V-EH!) performs acts of kindness for veterans and first responders in need of support, to achieve or maintain mental and physical wellness.

Veterans and Everyday Heroes

V‑EH! (Veterans and Everyday Heroes) is a not-for-profit organization based in St. Thomas, Ontario, dedicated to delivering “the collective kindness of your community to our heroes in need.” They support Canadian veterans, first responders, and frontline workers facing mental or physical health challenges—especially those experiencing operational stress injuries such as PTSD—by providing practical assistance, peer support, and moments of genuine connection

Each year, V‑EH! hosts impactful events like the Day of Heroes and Evening of Heroes, which include fundraising, service dog support, and peer community gatherings. Their Service Dog Support program helps qualifying veterans and first responders access fully funded service dogs, while their Assistance Request initiative offers timely financial or wellness aid to those in need ([v-eh.ca][2]). In addition, they offer branded swag and travel partnerships under OurHeroes Travel to extend support and awareness across Canada ([v-eh.ca][3]).

Founded and operated by Canadian Armed Forces veterans and first responders—such as Captain (ret’d) Andrew Gough, a mental health advocate and Sacrifice Medal recipient—V‑EH! stands out for its veteran-led, peer-informed leadership ([v-eh.ca][4]). With integrated strategies that include corporate sponsorships, community partnerships, and volunteer ambassadors, V‑EH! exemplifies mission-driven care.

Featuring V‑EH! in the Support Our Heroes Directory highlights a model built on empathy, experience, and real-world impact for those who’ve served.
